The Advanced Open Water Diver course is your gateway to expanding your underwater expertise while exploring thrilling new dive sites. With this course, you’ll not only boost your confidence but also enhance your diving skills through practical, hands-on learning. Whether you’re passionate about marine life, exploring shipwrecks, or simply diving deeper, this course is tailored to let you discover what’s most exciting to you.
Complete Five Unique Specialty Dives
Your diving journey includes two essential dives: deep diving and underwater navigation. You then customize your adventure by choosing three more specialty dives based on your interests and local diving conditions. Options include Enriched Air Nitrox, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Digital Underwater Photography, Night Diving, and more. With over a dozen specialties to select from, there’s something for every underwater enthusiast!
Earn Credits Toward PADI® Certifications
Every specialty dive you complete as part of this program counts toward PADI® specialty certifications. This means you’re not just gaining new skills; you’re also advancing toward additional certifications that recognize your expertise. From underwater naturalism to wreck diving, you’ll develop the tools to make every dive unforgettable.

Prerequisites
- Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
- Age: 15 years or older (12 -14 for Jr. Advanced Open Water Diver)
- Health: Good physical health
Step 1 – PADI eLearning®
Advanced Open Water Diver eLearning includes interactive lessons on 13 popular specialty dives: altitude, boat, digital underwater imaging, drift, dry suit, fish ID, night, buoyancy, search and recovery, underwater naturalist, and wreck diving.
Step 2 – With Our Instructor
The course includes five dives: a deep dive below 18m, a navigation dive, and three specialty dives. Gain experience, build confidence, and discover your diving abilities.
